The long answer
Behaviour in the dish
Hold the launcher level. Nine dead launches out of ten are a tilted launcher, not a tired top: leave at an angle and the Nado lands on the edge of its tip and scrubs the spin off immediately.
Give it a dry run on the table before the first real round. You will learn where this one drifts, and drift is what decides close matches.
Box contents in full
You are buying two Nados together with sword launchers.
Named on the box: glow finish, detachable walls.
It belongs to Gale Wings, which is why the cap and crystal are decorated to that character instead of the standard series finish.
Right age, right player
Age 5+ on the box, and that rating is about the hands rather than the interest. Keep the loose crystal and the spare tip picked up if there is a smaller child in the house.
