Floor note 03
Inside an Infinity Nado spinning top — spirit cap, crystal, attack ring, axis, tip
Five parts, all of them removable. Knowing what each one does inside an Infinity Nado is the difference between owning a spinning top and building one.
Spirit cap
The cap closes the top and locks the stack together. It is the part that carries the character face — the dragon, the phoenix, the bear — and on split-series models it is also the part that releases mid-round when the top comes apart.
Caps are the first thing to go missing, so when you take an Infinity Nado apart on a carpet, do it over a tray.
Warrior crystal
Under the cap sits the crystal that names the model. In the series it is the piece that holds the spirit power of a Nado, and on the toy it is a visible insert that identifies which warrior you are running.
Functionally it adds a small amount of mass high on the axis. Swapping crystals between tops is cosmetic more than anything, but every kid does it.
Attack ring
This is the one that matters. The attack ring is the die-cast metal wheel around the outside, and it holds most of the mass of the top. Its shape decides the battle type — toothed and aggressive for attack, smooth and heavy for defense, wide and flat for endurance.
It is also the part that takes the damage. After a few hundred rounds an attack ring will show chewed teeth and bright scrapes, which is how you can spot the top somebody actually plays with.
Central axis
The axis runs through the middle and everything else threads onto it. It sets the height of the top and holds the tension between cap and tip — a stack that winds itself loose is the usual reason a Nado rattles apart on impact.
Tighten it by hand until the stack stops moving. It does not need tools and it should never need force.
Tip
The tip is the only part touching the floor and it decides how the top behaves. A sharp tip bites into the arena surface, moves the top aggressively and burns rotation. A wide, rounded tip glides, holds a line and lasts.
Tips wear. If a top that used to run a clean circle suddenly starts wandering, look at the tip before you blame the launcher.
Rebuilding Infinity Nado spinning tops
Lift the cap, pull the crystal, slide the attack ring off the axis, swap the tip, reassemble. Under a minute with no tools, and the result is a genuinely different top.
The best use of three Infinity Nado tops is not three tops — it is one attack build, one defense build and a box of spare rings and tips that get traded between them depending on who is coming over.
